We are a programming service that believes in the mission of public broadcasting. Nielsen ratings, while helpful, have distracted public television away from that mission. Viewers appreciate programs that respect their desire to learn and to be informed. Engaged viewers are supportive viewers – both financially and politically.
We don’t ignore ratings; they help tell us if programs are scheduled in the right places. We also don’t shy away from popular programs like Antiques Roadshow or Brit-Coms. Bur they don’t need to be repeated over and over again just to pump up your GRPs.
